Opening Narrative

So we continue from the last program on the current series of the level one study of the Book of Revelation, based on the e-book Timing Revelation available on my web site. So far we covered up to chapter 18 and pick up from here today, right after this opening music, prayer and worship time...

Again just a friendly reminder here on when it comes to the book of Revelation, no one can read it, understand it and interpret it completely from beginning to end at this time. We learn more and more about the details and how every verse and chapter fit together as we move year by year toward the very end. We can only try and do our best, with the help of the Holy Spirit, to put the work together.

God knew all this... nevertheless, in spite of our short comings, as we all put efforts to come up with added and corrected pieces and details, we are directed by the Word of God to read this book. It is so important, we are told that we will get a blessing for our obedience to that.

"Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand."

So let's remember to always read this book with an open mind and patience.

Narrative #1

Alright, so again we continue from the last program on the current series of the level 1 study of the Book of Revelation, based on the e-book Timing Revelation available on my web site.

Last week we finished our review of the book of revelation with chapter 18 which is about the fall of Babylon...

so we pick up from there today, and again, if you missed last week's program you can hear it on the web site TimingRevelation.com/radio shows where the programs stay on for 5 weeks..

Let's begin now with Chapter 19...

verses 1 to 5...

All those in heaven praise God

1.And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God:

2.For true and righteous are his judgments: for he has judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and has avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.

3.And again they said, Alleluia. And her smoke rose up for ever and ever.

4.And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia.

5.And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all you his servants, and you that fear him, both small and great.

So, we read in Isaiah 64: “Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him.”

In the same way we cannot imagine the joy and appreciation that will be experienced when the evil system of the world has been conquered for good.

We get a taste of this in these first five verses of this chapter. All of heaven praise and honour the Lord for his long overdue righteous judgment against the great whore
that corrupted the whole earth for so many millennia. This is it—done.

What a glorious emotional time that will be when multitudes will shout Alleluia or Praise the Lord. Something like never before heard.

At this point of course there is still the great war of Armageddon to come against the antichrist, the false prophet and the devil himself. But the returning King of kings and Lord of
lords will finish that up in no time by the power of His Word by the end of this chapter!

As we will see, God will pour out His Holy Spirit upon the Jewish nation and they will recognize Jesus as their Messiah and will individually receive His grace of Salvation, in the
same way as any other born-again individual has done in the past.

The Holy Spirit will move the hearts of that remnant nation of that time to individual repentance. This will be the fulfillment of the promise of a new covenant with Israel as
described in Jeremiah 31:31. And thus will begin the one-thousand-year reign of the Lord Jesus Christ from Jerusalem with all His servants and people.

(Music Interlude)

Let's continue with chapter 19 Verses 6 to 10
The marriage supper of the Lamb

6.And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigns.

7.Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife has made herself ready.

8.And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

9.And he said unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he said unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

10.And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See that you do it not: I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

So, v. 6. Again, I turn to the Liberty Commentary which has such a magnificent way of interpreting this verse:

“In his oratoria of 'The Messiah,' Handel has correctly caught the climax: 'Hallelujah! For the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.”..This is the hour for which the church has prayed and longed, and all creation has groaned (Romans 8:18-23).”

7.Of all social institutions established by God for man's well-being and joy on this earth, marriage is number one. Both Old and New Testaments show demonstrative evidence of
its importance.

(and my note here; it is so sad to see what's happened to marriage in these days...it's so sad... I remember when I was going up and that's not so long ago – only 1 generation – how different, the world was so normal then, parents were parents and children were children... today it is such a disaster... anyway let's move on... )

c.25:40
Paul refers to the church as the betrothed virgin of Christ in 2nd Corinthians 11:2. The bride He has been longing for to be presented to Him without spot and wrinkle, holy and without blemish (Ephesians 5:27). The bride is made up of both the reclaimed Israel of the Old Testament and the grafted Gentiles of the New Testament.

What John heard was so overwhelming that he fell at the feet of the one who spoke these words. But the angel told him not to worship him for he was a fellow servant .

Narrative 2

Continuing on Chatper 19,

Verses 11 to 21
The Rider on the White horse
and The battle of Armageddon

11.And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he does judge and make war.

12.His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

14.And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

15.And out of his mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

16.And he has on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King Of Kings, And Lord Of Lords.

17.And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;

18.That you may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.

19.And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.

20.And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

21.And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

So, now John sees a vision of what is to take place next.

11-13.The awesome scene is of the One who is faithful and true and who judges and make war under the same principle of righteousness. The white horse represents victory and triumph.

He wears many crowns of highest authority over and above any other king or false kings. He comes in full judgment for the victims of the ages as described in the book of Jude verses 14 to 16.

Who are the armies which follow Him? They are the redeemed—the Old and the New Testaments saints.

15-16. The sharp sword from His mouth is the Word of God in judgment against the nations who rejected Him, the kings of the earth, the beast, the false prophet and all their armies who had come to war against the Christ.

17-21.All were cast alive into the lake of fire, their flesh remaining for the food of the fowls of the air.

I quote a paragraph from Amir Tsarfati's book “Revealing Revelation” who says it so beautifully:

“What a glorious event ! What a grandiose celebration ! Jesus Christ is returning to rule over all the kingdoms of the world. As He returns to earth, He will come not as He first
did when He was weak, humble, helpless.

This time as He rides in, He will do so as God in all His glory—all-powerful deity, general of righteous armies, leader of angelic forces, the one true ruler over all things. For centuries, the promise of Jesus’ return has been preached throughout the world. Nations, tribes, families, and individuals have anticipated the day. It is coming!”

Narrative 3

Now, let's look at Chapter 20...

Verses 1 to 3
Satan bound for 1,000 years

1.And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.

2.And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

3.And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

We see here that the final analysis is that God has authority over the bottomless pit from which the demonic locusts poured out at the sound of the 5th trumpet in Rev. 9:1-3.

We also see the characteristics of Satan: 'Dragon' indicates cruelty; 'serpent' speaks of guile; 'Devil', the tempter of mankind; 'Satan', the adversary of Christ and His people.

Satan is cast into the bottomless pit to deceive the nations no more until such time as God allows. He is sealed as security of this and will be loosed only a short time in order to reveal that man will still be susceptible to his wiles as we will see in verses 7-8.

Verses 4 to 6
Resurrection and reign of the saints

4.And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

5.But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

6.Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

So, From this point on Jesus rules the earth from his throne in Jerusalem. The devil can no longer tempt the people --until God lets him loose at the end of the thousand years.

What are the first and the second resurrections? Simply, the first is the resurrection of the believers who will reign with Christ. The second is that of the unbelievers who will go through the great white throne judgment of verse 11. And the second death is the lake of fire.

When the devil is loosed at the end, there will be some people who will be ready to follow him. What was previewed in earlier chapters is now being realized.

Verses 7 to 10
Doom of satan, beast and false prophet.

7.And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,

8.And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.

9.And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.

10.And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

So, Here we read about when the devil will be let loose for a short time. He will gather nations from around the world (the 4 quarters of the earth), that is Gog and Magog, who will come up with an army that cannot be counted.

You might say how can that be. Well in the year 1800 AD, the population was 1 billion and now we have around 8 billion; we don't know how many will enter into the millennium, but with all those who will live through the tribulation and their generations, there will be a lot of people.

But, Christ is no match to them. He will again use supernatural means to devour them all and cast them into the lake of fire with the beast and the false prophets are for ever.

Verses 11 to 15
Great white throne judgment

11.And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

13.And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

14.And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

15. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

So, In John 5:28-29 Jesus said: “Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.”

They will all stand before God and will be judged by what is written of each of them in the book of records.
